You will play a critical role in fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the IT department. Key Responsibilities

• Serve in a "player/coach" capacity, actively contributing to software development while providing guidance, mentorship, and leadership to the IT development team members, fostering their professional growth and technical proficiency.
• Lead the comprehensive process of establishing, evolving, and maintaining robust software development standards, including coding conventions, architectural patterns, design principles, documentation best practices, and security protocols, ensuring adherence across all projects.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for development processes, methodologies, and quality assurance programs (e.g., Agile/Scrum adoption, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, rigorous code reviews) to significantly enhance efficiency and reduce the incidence of production defects.
• Implement and champion quality initiatives aimed at increasing software reliability, performance, and maintainability, actively analyzing field-found faults to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
• Engage proactively and effectively with other development leaders, internal business subject matter experts, and executive management to understand strategic priorities, gather detailed requirements, manage expectations, and ensure that software delivery consistently aligns with and exceeds business needs and expectations.
• Provide comprehensive people leadership to the IT team, including performance management, career development planning, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive and productive team culture, working in close conjunction with the IT Technical Director to align on technical vision and team objectives.
• Collaborate extensively with business stakeholders across various departments to accurately interpret business requirements, translate them into clear technical specifications, and develop actionable development roadmaps and project plans.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle from conception to deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Champion the adoption of modern software engineering practices, tools, and technologies to keep ProCare Rx at the forefront of technological innovation.
• Facilitate effective communication channels between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the development process.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience in a "player/coach" leadership role within a software development environment, demonstrating both technical acumen and leadership capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead the creation, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive software development standards and best practices.
• Extensive experience in improving development processes and implementing quality initiatives to enhance efficiency and minimize field-found faults.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of successful interaction with diverse stakeholders, including development leaders, business experts, and executive management.
• Previous experience providing people leadership to an IT team, including mentoring, performance management, and fostering team collaboration, ideally in conjunction with a Technical Director.
• Proficiency in collaborating with business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in software development, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management capacity.
• Solid understanding of modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and DevOps principles.
• Experience with various programming languages, databases, and cloud platforms relevant to enterprise-level applications.
