The Senior Data Governance & Insights Consultant will be a key contributor to the 'Reporting and Insights' function, a vital component within COO Tech & Transformation, which is responsible for generating actionable insights, ensuring stringent data compliance, and empowering our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to make informed, strategic decisions based on high-quality, reliable information.
This role is specifically situated within the CDO Office (Chief Data Officer Office), a specialized department that serves as the central pillar for data integrity and governance for the CTO organization. - Act as a subject matter expert on data management principles, data architecture, data lineage, and metadata management, guiding projects and initiatives within the Reporting and Insights function.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT architects, data engineers, business analysts, and risk management, to embed data governance practices into daily operations and new system developments.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in data collection, processing, and reporting, driving efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence in data governance and insights.
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for data capabilities within the COO Tech & Transformation unit, ensuring long-term vision and adaptability to evolving business needs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in data governance, data management, data strategy, business intelligence, or a consulting role within a large, complex organization, preferably in the financial services sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and managing data governance frameworks, including data quality, metadata management, data lineage, and data stewardship programs.
- Profound understanding of relevant data privacy and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, BCBS 239, DORA) and their practical application in a financial institution.
- Proven ability to translate complex data requirements into practical solutions and actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with an ability to work with large datasets and complex information structures.
