Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on leading platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to ensure consistent and reproducible environments.
  • Lead the implementation and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines, automating software delivery and deployment processes to accelerate time-to-market.
  • Implement and manage container orchestration platforms, primarily Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and efficient resource utilization for microservices.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive logging, monitoring, and alerting systems using technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional development, QA, and product teams to integrate DevOps best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in cloud networking, security principles (e.g., IAM, network segmentation, data encryption), and data protection regulations.
  • Develop and implement advanced scaling strategies to accommodate growing user bases and data volumes, optimizing performance and cost efficiency.
  • Drive the adoption of GitOps methodologies for infrastructure and application deployment, promoting version control, collaboration, and auditability.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide operational support and ensure the reliability and performance of production systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team to elevate overall technical capabilities.
  • Continuously research and evaluate new technologies and tools to improve our cloud infrastructure and DevOps processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Several years of demonstrable, hands-on experience working with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), with deep expertise in at least one.
  • Profound knowledge and practical experience in infrastructure automation, including extensive work with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Strong expertise in containerization and container orchestration, specifically with Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using various tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
  • Hands-on experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
  • Excellent understanding of networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing), security principles (least privilege, encryption, access control), and scalable architectural patterns.
  • Direct experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools, GitOps workflows, and modern container orchestration.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, fostering an environment of open communication and shared responsibility.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is a significant plus given our location.
