We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to join our dedicated team within Roche’s Pharmaceutical division, specifically focusing on Non-Malignant Hematology. Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and meticulously execute a variety of in vitro and ex vivo experiments relevant to non-malignant hematology, including but not limited to cell culture, multi-parameter flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and molecular biology techniques.
- Perform comprehensive data analysis, interpretation, and statistical evaluation of experimental results, drawing insightful conclusions and identifying potential avenues for further research.
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records, experimental protocols, and electronic lab notebooks in accordance with internal standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot complex laboratory instrumentation and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare and present research findings, progress reports, and scientific data clearly and concisely to internal scientific teams, project leads, and cross-functional collaborators through presentations and written reports.
- Actively participate in scientific discussions, team meetings, and contribute to the intellectual property development and scientific publications.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including scientists from immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology, and clinical development, to advance project goals.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of new assays, methodologies, and experimental models to address evolving scientific questions and project needs.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature, technological advancements, and industry trends in non-malignant hematology and related fields to inform research strategies.
- Ensure strict adherence to all laboratory safety regulations, quality control standards, and ethical guidelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in an academic or industrial research setting, with a strong preference for experience in hematology, immunology, or oncology research.
- Proven expertise in a broad range of laboratory techniques, including mammalian cell culture, multi-parameter flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blot, PCR, and basic molecular cloning.
- Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and analyze complex experiments with meticulous attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of hematopoiesis, blood cell biology, and the pathophysiology of non-malignant hematological disorders (e.g., anemias, hemostasis, thrombosis, immune thrombocytopenia).
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, Excel, R) and electronic lab notebook systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts and present data effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming scientific challenges.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
