Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and rigorously backtest sophisticated quantitative models for various investment applications, including alpha generation, risk management, portfolio construction, and asset allocation across equities, fixed income, and other asset classes.
  • Conduct in-depth statistical analysis and econometric modeling of financial market data, economic indicators, and alternative datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio managers, investment analysts, and technology teams to translate complex quantitative insights into actionable investment strategies and tools.
  • Research and evaluate new quantitative methodologies, machine learning techniques, and data sources to continuously enhance our analytical capabilities and stay at the forefront of financial innovation.
  • Perform comprehensive data cleaning, validation, and processing to ensure the integrity and reliability of data used in quantitative research and model development.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and compelling research reports and presentations to communicate complex quantitative findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain and improve existing quantitative models and research infrastructure, ensuring their robustness, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Stay abreast of academic research, industry trends, and regulatory changes relevant to quantitative finance and investment management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a highly quantitative field such as Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in quantitative research, data science, or financial modeling within the investment management industry is preferred. Exceptional candidates with a strong academic background and less direct experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages commonly used in quantitative finance, particularly Python (with libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and/or R.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis, econometrics, time series analysis, and machine learning techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of financial markets, investment concepts, asset pricing models, and risk management principles.
  • Experience with large datasets, database querying (SQL), and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex quantitative concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
