We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Chemical Analyst to join our dynamic laboratory team. The Junior Chemical Analyst will play a crucial role in performing essential chemical analyses, contributing directly to our core services of reservoir description and production optimization. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized chemical analyses on a diverse range of samples, including but not limited to petroleum fluids, geological core samples, and various chemical products, following established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate, calibrate, and conduct minor maintenance on a variety of analytical laboratory instruments such as Gas Chromatographs (GC), High-Performance Liquid Chromatographs (HPLC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometers (ICP-OES), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometers (FTIR), and other essential laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare samples meticulously for analysis, ensuring accuracy and precision in all preparatory steps, including weighing, dilution, extraction, and derivation.
  • Accurately record, compile, interpret, and report analytical data using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
  • Strictly adhere to all quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) protocols to maintain the highest standards of analytical accuracy and reliability.
  • Actively participate in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, consistently complying with all company safety policies, industry regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Assist senior chemists and analysts with more complex analytical projects, method development, and research initiatives, providing support and learning opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot basic instrument malfunctions or analytical discrepancies, escalating complex issues to senior staff as appropriate.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through internal training programs, workshops, and seminars to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 0-2 years of practical laboratory experience, which may include academic research projects, university laboratory coursework, or relevant internships.
  • A fundamental understanding of analytical chemistry principles, including volumetric analysis, gravimetric analysis, and basic instrumental analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with common laboratory equipment and glassware, along with an understanding of their proper use and basic maintenance.
  • Proficiency in data entry and basic computer software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as an integral part of a team in a fast-paced, results-driven laboratory setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document procedures and present analytical findings.
  • Strong attention to detail, precision, and organizational abilities, essential for maintaining accurate records and producing reliable data.
